1 Second Everyday | 2017

I posted My Favorite Finds of 2017 last week and this little app, 1 Second Everyday, was on my list. I started using this app in December 2016. Mostly because I liked the idea of having all my videos in one place and it appeared to be very easy to use. I decided I would give it a try for the month and I LOVED it. I kept going in January and decided to record all of 2017 this way. It is SO easy to use, the hardest part is just remembering to take the video!

1 Second Everyday for 2017

What is this App?

It's an app that stitches together 1 second long videos in order to create a movie.

When do I take the videos?

Whenever you want! I try and take a video each day.

What if I forget to take a video on a specific day?

You can add in a video from another day, or add in a photo, or skip that day completely.

How long is this project?

Make it as long as you want or as short as you want. The sky is the limit. I tried it out during the month of December 2016 and then discovered it was easy to use and decided to tackle all of 2017.

How much does this cost?

The app is $4.99. Worth every penny.

What do I do with my movie when I am done?

You can share your movie directly to social media right from the app. I downloaded my movie to dropbox. From there I uploaded it to YouTube so that I could share it on my blog.

Do I have to upload a video every single day?

No. If I remember, I will upload my video each day. But honestly, I don't always remember. So, I generally catch up at the end of the month and upload several at a time. It's still very easy and quick (as long as you keep the videos and/or photos on your phone).

Can I upload videos or photos to the app if they aren't on my phone?

Yes. I added several images that I took with my camera (not my phone). I sent them to my dropbox account. Then opened Dropbox on my phone, downloaded the image to my phone, then uploaded to the 1 Second app. Again, sounds more complicated than it actually is. I added photos to the days that I forgot to take videos.

Tip:

Hold your phone horizontally when taking your video. Vertical videos work too, but a horizontal video is better.

How long will my final movie be?

It can be as long or as short as you want it to be. It just depends on the number of seconds that you record and upload to the app. The app also allows you to customize the dates which essentially customizes the length of your final movie.

Let me know if you have any additional questions. I am happy to help. I am using this little app for 2018 as well!
