Sarah | Class of 2016

This girl is not afraid to be different, loves fashion, and strives to make the best out of each and every day. She loves to write and hopes to pursue a career in journalism after high school. I personally think she needs to look into a modeling career as well! One thing she can't live without...her eyeliner! :-)

Sarah - you are simply stunning and made my job SO easy! I loved every minute of my time with you! I hope your senior year is every bit as fabulous as YOU!

Miller Family

My husband and I sit in awe every Sunday as our pastor, Ryan, delivers his message. No notes. Just all from memory. Every. Single. Week. And his delivery…oh yeah, it’s flawless. We leave every time with a thirst for more and we feel incredibly grateful to be a part of the Branches community. Ryan and his wife, Heidi, are two of the most creative, loving, and encouraging people I know. In addition to leading our church, they own and operate Mango Ink and 08Left. Definitely click and check out these very cool companies! Oh and they are raising three pretty awesome and amazing kids too! Their oldest will be graduating from high school this June, so it was extra special to capture this family of 5 while Isaac is still living at home!

Thank you Miller Family. It's hard to convey just how much you all mean to me in words. I am incredibly thankful for your friendship. And your session is one of my all time favorites!!!

Steven | Class of 2015

In the 24 hours leading up to his session, Steven flew home from a family trip to Hawaii, went to a concert, spent a full day of school, and then somehow made it back downtown for his senior photos! His two requests were brick and graffiti...I think we accomplished both. We were shooting in a downtown alley when a woman walked passed us and asked if we noticed "the Shepard Fairey?"  Steven's mom, Kim, and I looked at one another with blank stares as neither of us had any idea of what she was talking about. Turns out, Shepard Fairey is a famous street artist and Steven knew exactly who he was. Cool coincidence...Steven is hoping to become a 3D illustrator and was quite familiar with Shepard Fairey's work for OBEY. I learned later that Fairey is the artist behind the HOPE poster, an iconic piece representing the 2008 Obama campaign. Scroll down to image #10 and #11 - you will see the original Shepard Fairey artwork right near Steven's left knee.

This was a great session. Perfect location, cool story, and one pretty awesome Mead senior! Thanks Steven!

Everyday Life | August

Lots of time spent in and near the water this month...my favorite moments are from an afternoon spent at the Riverfront Park Fountain, our vacation on the Pend Oreille River, a day at Silverwood Theme Park, and last but not least....annual Pirate Day over Labor Day weekend; a tradition my parents started years ago and a hit with all the grandkids!

I started Everyday Life, a monthly blog post, in January 2014 as a personal commitment to keep shooting, editing, and sharing my family photos. Follow along on Instagram too at @leavingamarkphoto or #oureverydaylife2014.
